Loose, sagging skin is one of the most pervasive visible signs of aging. From “turkey neck” to droopy jowls, all the way down to sagging tummies and loose love handles, it’s a common problem that many of us will face in our lifetimes.

Radio frequency skin tightening is just one of the many non-invasive anti-ageing treatments offered by Carnation Wellness Centre.

Radiofrequency energy is primarily used to treat skin laxity by facial tightening, and is best suited to patients with mild to moderate sagging of facial tissues, usually those in their mid 30s to 60s, with any skin color.

Radiofrequency is an aesthetic technique that uses RF energy to heat tissue and stimulate subdermal collagen production in order to reduce the appearance of fine lines and loose skin. The technique induces tissue remodeling and production of new collagen and elastin. The process provides an alternative to facelift and other cosmetic surgeries.

It is commonly used to treat:

  • Forehead (lift brows and tightens forehead skin)
  • Under the eyes (thickens skin and tightens and lifts the upper cheek skin)
  • Mid-face, jaw line (diminishes sagging along the jaw line)
  • Neck (tightens skin and diminishes wrinkling of the neck)
  • Double chin (tightens skin)

Those who choose radio frequency skin tightening should keep in mind that depending on the strength of the treatment, it will require six or more to see any visible results.

What to Expect After RF Skin Tightening Treatment

You may experience some redness and swelling in the treated area after a radio frequency skin tightening procedure, but these symptoms should resolve within 24-48 hours.
Misting the face with cool water may help to reduce the irritation.

Some patients have reported sinking of the skin in the treated area, but this has mostly occurred with intense RF treatments. In most cases, these treatments have a low instance of side effects and are considered a viable anti-ageing treatment for a wide array of skin types.
